WHO WE ARE
Truck 9 works with our partners to develop a long-term vision, to gather the necessary resources and expertise, and to execute.
Our History
Our founders joined their family construction business as kids. At the time, the business did less than $1M in revenue. One of its trucks surpassed its expected useful life, continuing to run through multiple generations of employees. The truck came to be more than just a piece of equipment—it became a symbol of grit, durability, and perseverance. It was Truck 9. We work to embody these same qualities every day. Our name reminds us that the best way to get where we want to go is to remember and to embody the core values that define us as who we are.
Our founders have gone on to build one of the largest general contracting firms in the country at nearly $5B in revenue, continuing to lead it today.
In parallel, they have looked to share their experience and learnings with the broader business community, partnering with Chris LeRoy and Kevin McCarthy to launch Truck 9 in 2022. Since then, Truck 9 has backed 5 platform businesses, working with our partners to many growth and improvement initiatives and acquisition strategies.
Our Leadership

Chris brings over a decade of operational, strategic, and business development experience to the team. A native of Portland, Maine, he began his career working in businesses that were owned by multi-generational families, in the fields of construction, service, and energy management. He left the small business world to earn his MBA and accelerate his learning, always with the intent of returning to work with the founder and family-owned businesses he loves.
Prior to founding Truck 9 Partners, Chris worked in the Boston Consulting Group’s private equity practice, where he advised PE firms acquisitions ranging in value from $100M to over $1B, working closely with clients to identify and execute opportunities for growth and value creation. He loves applying the learnings from his prior experience to smaller firms looking to continue and expand their great legacies.
Chris earned his B.A. from Harvard College and his M.B.A. from MIT Sloan. He lives in Boston with his wife, Ashley, and their son and daughter, Dec and Sully. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, home improvement, sports, and playing the piano.

Kevin earned his BA from Dartmouth College and his MBA from MIT Sloan. He lives in Melrose, MA with his wife Meg and their two boys, Tee and Zak. Outside of the office, Kevin enjoys chasing the kids around with Meg, playing pick-up hockey and trying to find level ground for his backyard ice rink.
